Reminder: GOCHA Annual Meeting and Pancake Breakfast Coming Up

The Glenoaks Canyon Homeowner Association has two important  events coming up this week.

Officer Sue ShineThe Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 7:30 PM in the Joe Bridges Clubhouse at Glenoaks Park.  Our featured speaker this year will be Officer Sue Shine from the Glendale Police Department.  Some of the issues we'll be discussing at the meeting will include updates on GOCHA's proposals to limit access to the fire trails and restrict parking on certain streets to accommodate emergency vehicles as well as the possible loss of Bee Line services in Glenoaks Canyon.  Please plan to attend this informative meeting.

pancakes2Then, on Saturday, Sept. 25th, from 8:00am - 11:00am, we will be holding our annual Pancake Breakfast at the same location in Glenoaks Park.  GOCHA's mouth-watering pancakes and sausages will be served once again at no charge.  What a deal!

Both of these events are great opportunities for you to meet neighbors and connect with friends.  Hope to see you there!

Another Successful Bow Wow Pow Wow

Canyon K-9's in all their furry splendor came out to the park with their humans to celebrate at the annual Bow Wow Pow Wow. Organized with perfection by the Hopperts again this year, the annual event brought out our neighborhood's finest. Awards were given for best costume, best tricks and best time through the agility course. This year, the Pow Wow started in the afternoon for the first time. Let us know if you liked the afternoon start. We love all our canyon pets and it is always great to see them celebrated in this great, annual event.

Both nights are sure to be magical so bring your blankets and your picnic baskets for some culture in the park.

The meeting will be held this coming Wednesday, April 14th from 5:30-7:00 pm in the Glenoaks Elementary School Cafetorium (auditorium). For questions, please contact Chris Baghdikian at (818) 548-2140.

Get Ready for the Annual Bow Wow Pow Wow - April 24th

Lazy dogIt's that time of year again. The rains have stopped, the grass is green, and our canyon's four-legged friends are itching to get dressed up, hone those new tricks, and show off their dexterity and prowess at the obstacle course. That's right. It's time for the annual Bow Wow Pow Wow.

This year, the Bow Wow Pow Wow will be starting at a new time: 4pm - 6pm so all those dogs that like to sleep in will have a chance to strut their stuff.

So come on out and join your neighbors and their pets at Glenoaks Park. See you then.

Halloween on Hollister is Upon Us

Halloween in Glenoaks Canyon 2008It's that time again. GOCHA is once again going to close Hollister Terrace to auto traffic for a safe and super fun Halloween. From 5:30pm until 9:30pm this Saturday (October 31st), Hollister Terrace will be closed between Tryon and Edwards Place.

Come join the festivities, mingle with your neighbors, and get ready to hang out with some pretty goulish creatures.

Look out for the magician who will be practicing his prestidigitations along the street near Tryon.

Halloween Photos to be Posted Here

And, this year, after the event, if you email your photos, we'll post them here for all to see. Stay tuned.

On behalf of the entire GOCHA board, we hope you have a fun...and safe Halloween!
