Halloween on Hollister is Almost Here

It's that time of year again when our neighborhood ghouls and ghosts come out to haunt Hollister Terrace. Once again, GOCHA and the wonderful people on Hollister Terrace will make for a safe and family friendly night of fun. Like in years past, the 2300-2400 block of Hollister Terrace (between Edwards Pl. and Tryon) will be closed to non-residential vehicles between 5:00pm and 9:00pm on Sunday, October 31st. So put on your costume (come on parents, you too!) bring the kids, and take a stroll down Haunted Hollister Terrace to enjoy some spirited decoarations, games, special events and lots of fun. We hope to see you there.

Saturday, October 30th

3:00-4:30 p.m.

All ages are welcome!! Just bring a pumpkin of any size, shape or color, and we’ll provide the decorating supplies. There will be lots of fun for everyone!

Due to safety concerns, the library has requested that we not carve pumpkins at this event, so please don’t bring any carving tools--just a pumpkin and a bit of creativity!

Halloween on Hollister is Upon Us

Halloween in Glenoaks Canyon 2008It's that time again. GOCHA is once again going to close Hollister Terrace to auto traffic for a safe and super fun Halloween. From 5:30pm until 9:30pm this Saturday (October 31st), Hollister Terrace will be closed between Tryon and Edwards Place.

Come join the festivities, mingle with your neighbors, and get ready to hang out with some pretty goulish creatures.

Look out for the magician who will be practicing his prestidigitations along the street near Tryon.

Halloween Photos to be Posted Here

And, this year, after the event, if you email your photos, we'll post them here for all to see. Stay tuned.

On behalf of the entire GOCHA board, we hope you have a fun...and safe Halloween!

Ghouls Night Out

Ghouls Night Out This past Halloween, canyon trick or treaters received an extra something special when local residents and a generous contribution from GOCHA allowed for a stretch of Hollister Terrace between Edwards and Tryon to be closed to automobile traffic, making this popular area safe for our youngest goblins and super heroes to ply their candy grabbing skills. In addition, magic shows and costume contests rounded out the festivities making this past Halloween one of the most memorable in some time.

Special thanks to  Eileen Young for getting the ball rolling.

We would like to know you thoughts on closing down the section of Hollister this past Halloween Should this be an annual Halloween event in the Canyon?  Add a comment to this post and let us know.
