It’s spring time again here in our lovely canyon and you know what that means!!! It’s time for the annual Bow Wow Pow Wow!!!! A.K.A. : The Dog Parade!!!!
All those hours of hard work and training you and your dog have been putting in are about to pay off! It’s time for you to bring your pooch down to Glenoaks Park on Saturday May 30th for the big day! At 9:30 am, you and your fuzzy-faced friend will get to walk in the parade while showing off the award winning dog costume you’ve been sewing together all winter. Don’t forget to wear your matching one because you’ll be modeling your costumes to a panel of choosey judges! Best costume wins a ribbon and prize!
Then you two will have the stage to dazzle the crowd with your amazing pet tricks. The competition is always tough for this one, but your dog is probably the smartest dog in the world, after all. We’ll see what the judges say about it.
Finally, the event everyone has been training for since last spring….The Agility Course! You’ll be standing proud when your super star K9 tip toes over the beam, runs fast as lightning through the tunnel and zigzags perfectly through the flags for the best time! Of course you and your pet will take the blue ribbon home for all the events! 2nd and 3rd places will go to your neighbors and their dogs!
With all this dog excitement, don’t forget the rest of your family! We’ll have the finest artists in Glendale doing face painting for the kiddies. Free balloons will be given out to all who hold still long enough to be painted. And that will be a feat in itself after your kids gobble down the complimentary sweets and juice! For the grown-ups, we’ll even spring for coffee and donuts! There will be treats for all, especially for the dogs!
Lastly, we’ll recognize an outstanding community member for all their hard work in helping make our neighborhood as great as it is. You could be the recipient of this honor!
