It’s that time of year again. Time to celebrate our four-legged friends at the annual Glenoaks Canyon Dog Parade. So come on down to the park on Saturday, April 13th from 11:00am-1:00pm and take part in this fun event (sorry, no cats please).

GOCHA Scholarships Are Back

Apply now for a GOCHA Scholarship

What are you doing after high school graduation? If you plan to continue your education, Glenoaks Canyon Homeowners Association might be able to help. This year, the homeowners association will award a $400 scholarship to a high school senior who will attend a university, college, or community college following graduation. The applicant must live in Glenoaks Canyon, and at least one family member must belong to GOCHA. In addition to academic merit, the Scholarship Committee will carefully consider the applicant’s service to the local community, especially to Glenoaks Canyon. 2019 Membership Drive Now Under Way

The Glenoaks Canyon Homeowner’s Association depends on the generosity of the community to be able to provide the services and contributions that help make our canyon great. Annual funds go towards things that are important to the community including our Disaster Preparedness Program, the fight agains the Scholl Canyon Landfill, the Pancake breakfast, Dog Parade, and many other things that help preserve the specialness of the neighborhood.

Scholl Canyon Biogas Project Goes Back for More Environmental Review

According to a Glendale News-Press article, the proposed biogas plant being recommended for the landfill must get a more thorough review in large part due to the outcry by concerned citizens affected by the plant (GOCHA members as well as residents of Eagle Rock).

Glendale City Council Members voted 4-1 to initiate an environmental impact report for the proposed plant. You can read the full article here.

Comment on MND relating to Biogas Renewable Generation Project

Gerry Rankin, a GOCHA Board Member and a 76 year resident of Glenoaks Canyon, submitted the following comment on the City's intent to adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration relating to "Biogas Renewable Generation Project." 

It is an important read and provides some important information about the proposed Biogas Plant that GWP wants to build on the Scholl Canyon Landfill.
